Nantwich Town Football Club is pleased to announce that their young goalkeeper Ben Chapman was not hospitalized as a result of a first half incident during Saturday’s game against Frickley Athletic.
Despite the nasty looking goalmouth incident a medical examination fortunately has revealed no breakages to any bones in his neck or shoulders. However, the muscles in those areas are extremely stiff and sore thus ruling him out of action for the time being.
Nantwich Town head coach Peter Hall has used his contacts to good effect by securing the services of 19 year old Port Vale first team squad goalkeeper Daniel Lloyd-Weston in time for Tuesday’s league game away at Burscough.
The former West Bromwich Albion trainee is highly rated at the league two club and has been pushing hard for a first team start for some time. However, he is in competition with current No.1 Chris Martin and with Joe Anyon available again following injury his manager Micky Adams is very keen for his young protégé to gain further experience, albeit at semi-pro level.
In recent times, Lloyd-Weston has attracted interest from Manchester United with the Barclays Premier League club believed keen to retain him on their radar. The loan period is for 28 day’s and the registration was lodged with the FA and the UniBond League earlier today.
