Warrington Town Team Up with Moore United

Warrington Town have teamed up with locally based Moore United to be a "feeder club" to help generate home grown players for the future while the club's junior set up has taken over Beechfields to further expand the Warrington Town brand.

The move to team up with the well respected Moore club, who play in the Cheshire League Division Two, follows the decision to disband Town's reserve team.

Town manager Joey Dunn said: "I am looking forward to the alliance as it gives us the opportunity to provide a feeder through for our first team for the Warrington based players.

"It is a great option for our squad of players to play locally with a really well respected local side, which is run by football people who want to see their club progress as a consequence.

"There are plans for it to expand over the years and the meetings between the two clubs have been really positive, and I believe it is a win win for both clubs."

Moore's secretary Toby Macormac, who also sits on the board at Warrington, said: "The expansion plans are the key which I’ll heading up with Warrington Schoolboys and the teams at Warrington Collegiate.

"We are a long established side, formed in 1946 and hope to use our experience to supply quality players going forward."

Moore play their home games at the Tetley Walker ground on Long Lane, next door to the Collegiate who also provide players from their college league teams.
