New Signings at Romulus

Romulus boss Richard Evans has unveiled three new signings on the eve of their debut season in the Evostik League Division One South.

Evans started his recruitment for the new campaign by snapping up local goalkeeper Liam Flynn from Hednesford Town. 18 year old Flynn, who has also been at Shrewsbury Town, is locally based and has played for both Sutton College and the England Colleges team in the last 12 months.

Romulus have also bolstered their midfield with two new arrivals, James Pugh has signed after coming through at Birmingham City and playing in the Blues reserve side, last season he gained valuable experience at Solihull Moors in the Blue Square North and also represented Bromsgrove Rovers, scoring a goal of the season contender at Coles Lane against the Roms.

Sam Williams, a 20 year old 'box to box' midfielder makes up the trio. He spent last season with Bloxwich United, helping them to second place in the West Midlands Premier League as well as lifting the JW Hunt and Walsall Senior Cups.

Goalkeeper Lewis Exall and striker Josh Bambury have also stepped up from the double winning youth team of last season, and the majority of Evans squad from have been retained as Romulus look to hit the ground running in their new surroundings.

The new faces will get their chance to impress Evans and Keith Brown this Saturday as Romulus kick off their pre-season programme at Midland Alliance side Coalville Town. Kick off at Owen Street is 3pm.
