Chasetown boss Charlie Blakemore has bolstered his squad for the push for promotion over the closing weeks of the season by signing four new players.
The biggest signing is Ben Jevons, an attacking midfielder who has spent the 2009/10 season as a centrepiece of Rushall Olympic's UniBond League side. The previous season he played for Shifnal Town where he was the leading goalscorer. He has also been on the books of Wolves, Willenhall Town and Bilston Town, and will bring experience and power to the Scholars line-up.
Versatile pairing Jamie Hawkins and Danny Rock have stepped up from the Scholars reserves to the first team, while goalkeeper Richard Wooley, formerly of Hednesford Town, has joined the side as cover for first choice keeper Ryan Price.
Assistant manager Andy Cox said: "Jamie and Danny are two of around five players we are looking at to move up from the reserves to the first team with 17 games to play in seven weeks, so it's important to keep the squad bolstered as you never know what's round the corner. We have around 19 players currently in the first team squad and we will be expecting to use all of them over the last few weeks of the season to keep everyone fresh for the challenges ahead."
Rock and Hawkins should be available for the Scholars trip to Bloxwich United in the Walsall Senior Cup on Thursday evening, but Jevons is cup-tied and will be available for the home League match against Glapwell on Saturday.
